The window of opportunity for reducing greenhouse gas emissions before reaching a climate tipping point is closing quickly.
It is now widely recognised by science (IPCC 2022) that drastically reducing emissions alone will not be enough to halt climate change. It is more important than ever to deploy large-scale carbon dioxide removal in parallel with emissions reductions to limit global warming to as close to 1.5 °C as possible.
In this online session, we will explore existing carbon dioxide removal methods, which are ready to be scaled. We will also shine a light on theoretical concepts and currently pioneered approaches which deserve the attention of academia and technology developers.
