Earth Overshoot Day marks the launch of 100 Days of Possibility leading to COP26
LJUBLJANA, SLOVENIA; OAKLAND, CA, USA — JULY 29, 2021 — 100 Days of Possibility is unveiled today, on the Earth Overshoot
The Sustainaware project aims to involve young people in this multisectoral initiative through a non-siloed approach. This collaboration will generate new ideas and strategies, leading to innovative solutions to environmental problems and bringing about long-term impact.
By supporting youth, building their skills and knowledge, and strengthening opportunities for their engagement, we ensure that future generations can enjoy a healthy and sustainable environment.
The project is a pioneering initiative that combines education, awareness-raising, and tangible societal impact on climate change, sustainability, and environmental health from a youth perspective with a digital dimension. Primarily focused on the EU, our goal is to empower youth organisations with the skills and knowledge needed for effective cross-sectoral collaboration in addressing climate crises.
We aim to create a collaborative space where organisations from youth, health, environmental, and digital sectors can enhance the quality and relevance of their work through multisectoral cooperation.
The Youth Technical Advisory Board (YTAB) will take the lead in designing the digital escape room and will also contribute to the development of supporting materials such as an educational pack and facilitation guidelines to enrich the escape room learning experience.
The Board includes 15 highly motivated young people from 14 different EU and neighbouring countries.
The project will produce a comprehensive educational pack for organisations, including materials and guidelines on cross-sectoral collaboration in the fields of sustainability and climate change.
Additionally, we will develop a digital escape room accompanied by a learning toolkit and a supportive resource database. We will also produce recommendations on integrating the facilitated digital escape room experience into formal education, ensuring its effective implementation and widespread impact.
